Philosophy

Azienda Riccardo is the first estate in the Conegliano/Valdobbiadene DOC area to produce Prosecco wines guaranteed by a food chain traceability certification that documents the entire production process from vineyard to bottle. The certification attests to the integrity and authenticity of the wines produced.

As consumers, we're becoming increasingly conscious of where our food and drink come from and how they're produced. Food chain traceability is an important step in providing consumers with much-needed transparency in the food chain system. Traceability certification (based on ISO 22005) allows producers to demonstrate their commitment to food safety and quality at every stage of the production process.

Although Prosecco Riccardo has been in production only since 2004, Azienda Riccardo has a long history of viticulture dating back to the early nineteenth century. Now owned and run by the Fornasier brothers – Severino, Giuseppe and Claudio – the estate has benefited from investment in facilities and expertise. Master viticulturalists and enologists have been brought in to improve and reinforce the desirable characteristics of the grapes grown on the estate. Vine cultivation follows traditional methods, with environmentally friendly control of pests and disease. The yeasts used for fermentation are carefully selected and state-of-the-art vinification techniques employed to create a product of quality and distinction.
